I haven't used the directional shield, the LMG, the new SMG, the mortar, or the plasma gun. This is an unofficial subreddit for Helldivers. One of the laser rifles looks pretty decent (LAS-16 i think, been using mostly the shotguns). The only DLC stuff I'm really diggin so far is the barbed wire (lasts much longer than the shock field), the REC6 satchel charges (great AT and demo gear without painful reloads or 1-shot like EAT-17). CAS is a combo of strafing run and a couple AT rounds (not that good until you upgrade it), Precision Arty is like having a couple homing orbital rail-cannon rounds, UAV is really useful for finding all the SCIENCE on the map, Missile Barrage is slightly better arty (can turn it into chem rounds at level 3). The shoulder-mounted 20mm cannon is ok, but since it's not AT there's really no point taking it.Īrtillery call-ins are slight upgrades from the default. Flamethrower just isn't as good as the chaingun, although having more than 8 AT rockets is pretty nice. The EXO-51 is pretty garbage unless it's dedicated AT. The grenade rifle is garbage at close range (but a great way to kill your teammates). The chem thrower is kinda crappy, just like the flamethrower although the slow can be useful. Not a big fan of the MLS-4X "homing" missile launcher (or maybe it just needs some upgrades). The medic drone has a really short range so you might as well just walk over to someone and help them up. Losing a perk to gain a better pistol is hardly ever worth it. The motorcycle bursts into flames if a bug scout looks at it funny. The tank has some wonky driving controls (it's nothing like the APC). Most of the DLC (from what I've tried so far) isn't really gamebreaking.ĮXO-48 has no AT capability and isn't feasible for anything over level 5 planets. Just pick the ones you want, and you might end up saving a couple of bucks. There's several really nice stuff that I always use, but there's also some decent ones that I don't touch. In that case, it would be a bit of a cake walk.Īlso as a side question, do you think the DLC is worth the extra 20 bucks? It's mostly skill again unless you mean the first 6 difficulties as the first half. Will it makes the first half of the game a cake walk until I get to end game content? There are some very good weapons and strategems, but it's mostly about your skill in using said equipment. If you were to play with just two people, it'd really be about your skill levels and decent equipment.ĭLC would give you an advantage. Again, this isn't going to be enforced heavy-handedly, it's not like a single off-topic rant is bannable, but if you start spamming links to cash-for-click sites or whatever, you will get banned. This includes affiliate links and unrelated content. While we won't ban negative comments and so forth, if you have a repeated history of making caustic remarks for the sole purpose of being confrontational, we won't hesitate to ban - regardless of how monolithic you think you are in the community. We're not enforcing this rule as a form of censorship, we're enforcing this because subreddits tend to get lots of new players, and the last thing we as a community should do is make people tuck tail and run. Clearly jokes and stuff are fine, but if you're harassing someone, that's not cool. Other than that, have fun, and be excellent to each other! We're really passionate about the game, so we ask that posts in this subreddit be relevant to Helldivers - other content should go on /r/gaming or /r/games.
